Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice is pleased to welcome Martha Charepoo, who joins the firm's St. Louis office as Of Counsel. Her practice with the firm is focused on business and consumer litigation including breach of contract, fraud, unfair trade practices, business torts, shareholder disputes, insurance law, and real estate disputes. Her insurance law practice includes providing coverage opinions and defending claims challenging improper insurance practices, as well as counseling clients on failure to pay claims, improper denial of commercial, homeowners, auto and other insurance benefits, and bad faith claims.
Charepoo also provides an outside in-house counsel program offering management and handling of legal matters tailored to the needs of small to mid-sized companies She works closely with clients to ensure that cases are handled efficiently and cost-effectively and, when appropriate, develops business strategies to reduce the risk of future litigation. Whether business owner or individual, she gives each client focused personal attention to ensure they receive the advocacy needed to solve their legal problems. She handles cases from inception through settlement/trial in state and federal courts nationwide.
Prior to joining the firm, Charepoo spent several years with an Am Law 200 firm helping handle national-scale litigation of product liability claims and complex business cases in the manufacturing and health care industries. She earned her law degree from the University of Iowa. She speaks French and Farsi, and also knows some Arabic.
