Laura Beasley Appointed Chair of Illinois Fifth District Court Character and Fitness Committee

Baker Sterchi Member Laura Beasley has been appointed by Illinois Supreme Court Justice David K. Overstreet as the Chair of the 5th District Court Character and Fitness Committee. Committee members are in charge of evaluating the moral character and general fitness of applicants to practice law.

Beasley is an experienced trial lawyer with a practice focused on civil defense litigation. She is the past president of the Illinois Defense Counsel and is also a current board member of both the East St. Louis and St. Clair County Bar Associations. She received her law degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and is admitted to practice in Illinois and Missouri.
