Baker Sterchi Member Jonathan Benevides Selected for Membership in Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel

Baker Sterchi Member Jon Benevides has been unanimously approved for membership in the by-invitation-only Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC). Nominees, who must be of high professional standing, demonstrate good moral character and devote a substantial amount of their professional time to defending civil litigation, undergo a rigorous peer review nomination process before being voted on by the FDCC Board of Directors.

“I am excited to have been invited into the membership of the FDCC,” said Benevides. “Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice has a deep history with the organization that I look forward to contributing to as I become involved with the FDCC community.”

An organization dedicated to promoting knowledge, fellowship and professionalism for lawyers and other professionals striving to achieve a balanced justice system in the defense of civil lawsuits, the FDCC is a founding member of Lawyers for Civil Justice (LCJ). Comprised of accomplished defense attorneys, corporate counsel, and insurance industry executives, many members are current and former leaders in national organizations and networks across the country, such as the American College of Trial Lawyers, American College of Coverage Lawyers, Defense Research Institute, International Academy of Trial Lawyers, Canadian Defense Counsel, and more.

Based in the firm’s Kansas City office, Benevides dedicates his practice to the defense of corporate clients in the areas of transportation, products liability, premises liability, employment/labor, consumer protection, and commercial litigation. He also represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in union representation proceedings and unfair labor practice proceedings.
