Baker Sterchi Managing Member Scott Kreamer to Serve on Lawyers for Civil Justice Board of Directors

Baker Sterchi Managing Member James Scott Kreamer will serve on the Lawyers for Civil Justice (LCJ) Board of Directors, a coalition of defense bar organizations, law firms and corporations committed to reform in the civil justice system.

Supported by the Defense Research Institute, Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and International Association of Defense Counsel, LCJ initiatives are focused on clarifying expert evidence standards, multi-district litigation reforms, reasonable allocation of discovery costs, Rule 30(B)(6) witness selection and reduction of burdensome discovery. LCJ also supports an amicus program at both the trial and appellate levels.

“We all recognize that corporations are being subjected to soaring litigation costs and this has become a heavy burden. LCJ is the one organization that has successfully been leading the charge to implement reforms in the justice system,” said Kreamer.  “It is an honor to serve on this Board and am looking forward to continuing to find ways to promote changes that will secure fair and speedy resolution of civil cases.”

Kreamer is active in the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC), having served as President of the organization.  He has also served on the Board of Directors for the DRI.

Kreamer earned his law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa. He practices in the areas of commercial, construction, financial services, insurance, products liability and tort litigation, having tried more than 30 cases in both State and Federal Courts.  The Business Journals, a division of American City Business Journals, named him to its list of 2019 Influencers: Law, and Best Lawyers in America and Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers consistently recognize him as a leading lawyer.
