Joanna Orscheln is a trial lawyer focusing her practice on the defense of corporate clients in the areas of products liability, premises liability, and personal injury. Her experience extends to various industries including, propane, retail, railroad, recreational transportation, healthcare, insurance, and trucking.
Joanna has tried over 12 jury trials in state courts. As a former Jackson County prosecutor, she learned the importance of thorough investigations, and how to think critically and make decisions in high pressure situations. During Joanna’s time with the Special Victims Unit, she handled the prosecution of crimes involving domestic and sexual violence, this experience makes her uniquely skilled at guiding clients through legal situations when they are at their most vulnerable.
As a civil attorney Joanna has experience with accident scene investigations, inspections of equipment, written discovery, preparing witnesses and corporate representatives to testify, taking and defending depositions including expert depositions, motion practice, handling substantive hearings, mediations, and trial. Joanna uses her experience to pinpoint legal issues and strategically defend cases through all stages of litigation.
