Technology Law
Today sweeping changes in American business are driven by technology's introduction into almost every area of life. The proliferation of computers and other technology in all sectors of the business world has given rise to a host of legal issues. As quickly as new technologies have emerged, important and difficult legal issues have emerged with them, and the legal system is engaged in a great struggle to devise appropriate ways to address these issues. In some areas (such as personal jurisdiction and the Internet), the courts have applied traditional legal principles to new technologies. However, in others (for example, the legality of digital signatures used in electronic commerce transactions), there is no precedent, and lawmakers are now drafting legislation intended to both protect individuals' and companies' interests and rights, and allow the Internet, electronic commerce, and other emerging technologies to continue their tremendous growth.
In keeping with our commitment to provide legal services relevant to the changing times, we have assembled attorneys and staff trained and knowledgeable in the broad areas of technology law.
