Litigation has been our primary focus for the last twenty-five years.  Our philosophy is simple - we obtain favorable results for our clients as quickly as possible at a reasonable cost.

At Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice, litigation encompasses comprehensive skills from negotiating a settlement when settlement offers the best solution, to Alternative Dispute Resolution when it is most appropriate, to well-prepared, articulate defenses in the courtroom.  The decision regarding which approach to take is made with the client, through an early evaluation of each case during which we calculate cost-effectiveness, possible duration, and the opponent's strengths and weaknesses.  Regardless, each case is pursued with the same dedication as the pursuit of trial.

Centrally located in Missouri and Kansas, we practice throughout the United States serving national, regional and local companies and professionals who receive the added advantage of economical Midwestern fee structures.  Our practice covers most types of litigation, except domestic and criminal cases.  We have exceptional strength in product liability, medical malpractice, commercial, aviation, toxic tort, environmental, construction, fidelity and surety, premises liability, architects' and engineers' malpractice, insurance coverage, and employment law.  With approximately 50 dedicated litigators and a substantial staff of litigation paralegals, our size and the types of cases we handle rival much larger firms with a litigation "department."
