Scott Kreamer Elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel

Scott Kreamer has been elected to serve as Secretary/Treasurer of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC), an invitation-only organization consisting of accomplished defense attorneys, corporate counsel, and insurance industry executives who have achieved professional distinction during their careers. Current FDCC worldwide membership is approximately 1400.

Scott’s term as Secretary/Treasurer runs through August 2016, after which he will serve as President-Elect in 2017, President in 2018, and Chairman of the Board in 2019. In addition to his duties as an officer for the FDCC over the next several years, Scott will also be actively involved with several other organizations including Defense Research Institute (DRI), Lawyers for Civil Justice and ABOTA.  Scott has previously served as an Executive Committee Member, Program Chair, Website Director, and Dean of the FDCC’s Litigation Management College.

Scott is extremely honored to receive the support of the FDCC community and is looking forward to taking on the role of Secretary/Treasurer, remarking:

“For over 75 years, the FDCC has been at the forefront of the defense of civil litigants.  Our membership is comprised of leaders in both the courthouse and corporations in the United States and throughout the world.  I am truly humbled and honored to be selected to lead such distinguished members of the defense community.

The legal arena is constantly changing and the challenges in practicing law have never been greater.  To equip our members with the necessary tools to meet these challenges and to achieve our goal of working towards greater justice in our judicial system, we have some exciting initiatives we will be implementing under my leadership that are designed to expand our international footprint, further enhance the value of membership and ensure our members remain the best the profession has to offer.

With our membership at an all-time high and the new initiatives we have planned, it is an exciting time for the FDCC.  I am really looking forward to this opportunity and doing some special things with the organization.”

Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice attorney Robert A. Babcock, the 1988-1989 President of the FDCC (when it was known by its predecessor name “The Federation of Insurance and Corporate Counsel”) believes Scott will be a great asset to the organization in his current and future leadership roles, stating:

“I am extremely pleased with the election of Scott Kreamer as Secretary/Treasurer of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and congratulate him on his achievement.  In his twelve years as a member of the Organization, Scott has been extremely active in its activities as a member of and in many cases, Chairman, of various Sections and Committees.  He also served in many other capacities as well, including Dean of the Organization’s well recognized Litigation Management College.

Based upon his past achievements, I know that Scott will do an excellent job in his position as the FDCC Secretary/Treasurer and upon becoming President of the Organization in August 2017, will become an outstanding leader of the Organization.  Scott’s office and future offices in the FDCC should result in National recognition and be of great benefit to the Firm.  The FDCC is a family-oriented organization and spouses not only attend and participate in the activities but attend the many functions attended by Officers.  I know from having seen Scott and his wife, Susan, at FDCC functions, that they will make the Organization proud.”

The firm congratulates Scott on reaching this milestone with the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel.
